Hello Sisters,
I would like to share a part of my personal journey that has impacted the way I live, work, and navigate my emotions—and how it might do the same for you. For a long time, I felt like I was constantly at odds with myself. Some weeks, I’d feel unstoppable, full of energy and ideas—while during others, I’d feel like retreating from the world entirely. Sound familiar? What is wrong with me? ,,I asked a lot,,
It wasn’t until I started to deeply explore the rhythms of my own body that I realized and learned the hidden wisdom of the menstrual cycle.
For those of us who menstruate, there’s a natural rhythm within us, just as real and impactful as the changing seasons. Once I started working with my cycle instead of fighting it, I noticed some changes, not just in my energy but in my confidence, productivity, and overall way of being and living. Somehow it feels as I have won the lottery. Why has no one told or taught me this before?
Let me walk you through this process, step by step to better understanding. with some real-life examples and tips for how you, too, can harness and embrace the incredible power of your body’s natural rhythms.
The Four Phases of Your Cycle:
Reflective Winter (Menstruation) During this phase, your energy is naturally lower, and your body is calling for rest and introspection. I used to see this time as inconvenient—like I had to push through no matter what. Sounds familiar? No, your body is calling you inwards . Your intuition is heightened. Why not use this power.
My personal practice: I schedule quieter days when possible, and I use this time for journaling and reflection, or simply just to be. Also to learn to be vourneable, because you are, you are bleeding girl. One question I often ask myself during this phase is: What is no longer serving me, and what do I want to let go of? This is an ideal time for clarity and inner wisdom to surface.
For you: Can you carve out even 10-15 minutes a day for stillness? Perhaps enjoy a warm tea, light a candle, and simply be with yourself.
Dynamic Spring (Pre-Ovulation) Ah, the fresh burst of energy! Coming out of a cocoon. This is when I feel most creative and ready to tackle new projects. Gently It’s like stepping into a bright spring morning after a long winter nap.
My personal practice: This is when I brainstorm new ideas for workshops or dive into projects that require focus. I also use this phase to move my body in ways that feel uplifting.
For you: Use this phase to start something new, whether it’s a creative project, a work challenge, or even trying a new hobby. This is great time for this.
Expressive Summer (Ovulation) This is my favourite phase! Energy is much higher, my face feels as if it's glowing, I notice communication feels effortless, and I often find myself more outgoing. It’s a great time for collaboration, networking, or hosting events.
My personal practice: I intentionally schedule social activities or group workshops during this phase. I also focus on connecting with others—whether it’s deep conversations with friends or sharing my story on social media. It is also beneficial to have more in depth sometimes difficult conversations or working through issues with more ease. Your mindset is very different in this phase.
For you: Plan events, important meetings, or date nights during this phase. You might find yourself radiating confidence and attracting positive interactions effortlessly.
Creative, reflective Autumn (Pre-Menstruum)
This phase used to be the trickiest for me. I’d feel more sensitive, and my inner critic would get loud, very loud sometimes. Sometimes I snap, my mood changes quickly, and I feel my emotions heightened, once learned to reframed it as a time of creativity, reflections on what no longer works. Preparation and organisation seems very aligned in this phase.
My personal practice: I use this time for deep creative work, organising, decluttering, tying up loose ends, and leaning into more self-care. I’ve learned to honour my sensitivity as a strength rather than a weakness.
For you: This is a wonderful time to declutter, finish projects, or reflect on what you need to feel supported. Allow yourself to say no to things that feel draining.
How This Can Benefit You
When you start to align your life with your cycle, you create a beautiful harmony between your mind, body, and spirit. Imagine knowing exactly when to rest, when to push forward, and when to connect deeply with others. It’s like having a personalized roadmap to your energy, emotions, and creativity.
Here are some tangible benefits you might notice:
Increased self-compassion: You’ll stop blaming yourself for low-energy days and instead embrace them as a time for rest.
Improved productivity: By scheduling tasks that align with your natural energy levels, you’ll accomplish more with less effort.
Deeper self-awareness: You’ll begin to understand your body’s cues and needs, which leads to a stronger sense of self-trust.

This process is ongoing for me, something I now live by, and wow I am still feeling as if I have won lottery here. I’m still learning and adjusting as I go along. But what I’ve found is that the more I tune into my cycle, the more empowered and grounded I feel.
