Let's keep it simple

It took me really long time to learn to keep things simple, years even. I was following successful people and really wanted to become successful quick. By seeing more and more posts on social media of people who are reaching the ladders actually made me feel worse and under pressure because i did't see myself being successful. I was overwhelming myself with things to do. I changed my routines completely and all at one time, and that didn't help me, actually it made me more overwhelmed and I would give up soon.

I did this over and over and kept failing with being consistent. I still did learn a lot of things throughout the journey that helped me to move forward but it wasn't smooth at all. Some of you might be similar to me in a way that we temp to do million projects at once but not getting to the end with any of them. Simply said I was being very impatient.

The More and more I continued this way I was ready to give up. It was getting to much and because of my beliefs I was being pretty harsh at myself. You know the usual voice that pops in sometimes saying things like (You are not good enough, no one will listen to you anyways, other people already doing this so what is the point) These things were part of my depression I was going through and it really stopped me.

Once I stopped and took some time to reflect back I have realised that next time if I do want to work on something again I will need to learn the following: Acceptance, Patience, The inner voice chat.

ACCEPTANCE - This is very important to understand. Many times in life we do things that others expect of us. We do things because we think we have to do them and we put a lot of pressure on ourselves. One of my good friends always said and reminded me. He would say '' Domi, you already are enough please remember that.'' He would repeat this many times when we spend time together. One day I paused and said to myself. Domi you are enough as you are. You don't need to keep doing things according expectations of other.

Also Accepting the fact that there is no such a thing as end goal. It isn't, because every time we complete something, any goal we may have we will thrive towards something new again and again. Also by focusing on the end Goal we are narrowing our focus and not really seeing the journey or progress along the way. We get frustrated because we still didn't reach our goal.

Journey and progress is the one to pay much more attention too, we will be more present with what we are doing and less likely to then give up.

Patience - learning to be patient might not be easy but once we learn to accept our journey it will become more and more easier. We will then see the little progress along the way. (When the voice comes back saying those limiting believes, become aware of those and then just remind yourself) I ACCEPT MYSELF AND MY JOURNEY.

The inner Voice - Again this is something to become aware of. Every time you stop yourself from doing something look out and observe what is going on through your mind, also ask yourself where is this coming from, why do I say this to myself. (your brain will get to work because it loves to search for evidence) That is good start.

SIMPLICITY / MINIMALISM - We as human beings like to complicate everything. I mean everything don't we, even things can really be simple if we make it so. Decluttering your surroundings is a great first step. I use to be collector and by holding onto items I was also holding onto the past. The past wasn't serving me anymore so I had to make a decision. When I moved my house back in 2016 I have really gone through some of my things and got rid of a lot of things that I didn't need anymore be it items, clothing or just random stuff. At same time I was letting go of the past. If there are things that you are holding on to from the past

I would like you to ask yourself, is this serving me now? Is this going to help me to move forward with whatever I would like to do? If the answer is no then it's time to let go.

When we declutter and learn to minimise we are also decluttering our mind. Improves our focus, concentration, saves some money we then stop buying unnecessary items, we find things easier so it also saves us time, save us space and its easier to clean.

By having less we also have more freedom.

Let's not complicate things ;)

Love and blessing

Domi xx
